Radio Service Technician

The Radio Service Technician (RST) is responsible for repairing, installing and optimizing RF communication Equipment.

Requirements:

Required Education	Associates / Certificate / Diploma
Required Experience	5 - 10
Department Description	Field Service Organization maintaining State and Local Public Safety, Commercial and Industrial customers within the Southeast LA area.
Responsibilities/Expectations	Must have the ability to work harmoniously with other Team members as well as personnel from Engineering, Program Management, Sales and Support. Ability to handle constant exposure to very demanding customers is required. Identifies and corrects technical issues with a very large and complex single site and multi-site systems that stretch across large geographical areas. Document all failures/defects and provide both written and oral technical feedback to appropriate personnel.
Specific Knowledge/Skills	Unique combinations of both strong single and multi-site RF communications systems and computer/networking skills are required. Good oral and written communications abilities are also important. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of related experience with Motorola SmartZone, Smartnet Trunking Systems, Quantar/Quantro base stations, Centracom Consoles, channel banks, T1 circuits, and computer networking fundamentals. Must have excellent skill in the use of various communications test equipment including communications system analyzers, T1 test sets, TIMMS sets, dynamic signal analyzers and network analyzers. Must be able to respond to and address customer's problems quickly under stressful situations. Maintain accurate and updated documentation, charts, and reports. Must be proficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheet programs. Excellent interpersonal skills. FCC General Radio Telephone licenses or equivalent certification required. MCSE certification a plus.
